Brian Robb headed the Royal College of Arts Illustration Department from 1963-1978 and is now best known as an illustrator. He was, however, trained as a painter at the Chelsea School of Art (1930-1934) and then the Slade, and thought of himself as an artist to whom the practice of both disciplines was natural.
Work by Robb is in the Collections of: The Arts Council; Cardiff University; Tullie House Museum (Carlisle); Southampton City Art Gallery; Rotherham Heritage Services; Middlesborough Council; The National Portrait Gallery; Ruth Borchard Collection; University of Birmingham Art Collection; Leicester Arts and Museums Service.
