Glyndebourne commissioned a set of Sussex downland
landscapes from Tor Falcon, of which these are an example.
Following her Peddars Way book and exhibition, Tor has spent the last three and a half years drawing the rivers of Norfolk. With a list from Wikipedia and a “hitherto unknown, trainspotter’s enthusiasm for ticking things off a list”, she has been walking and drawing Norfolk’s rivers. From Breckland to Broadland and everywhere in-between she has followed the rivulets, streams, ditches and rivers from source to mouth. These drawings will form a book and exhibition at the Norwich Castle Museum next summer.
“Looking down on things is a rare treat for a landscape painter from Norfolk. The escarpments of the South Downs never fails to entice me, even with The Beast from the East whistling round my ears”.
