'Court Martial upon General Whitelocke / Chelsea College, Jan.28th 1808'. Ink and watercolour. Indistinctly ?signed verso. The General Court Martial of Whitelocke (1757-1833) who had failed to seize Buenos Aires from the Spanish Empire, surrendered and also lost Montevideo in 1807. He was found guilty of all but one charge and cashiered. 6.75x10.25 inches.
