Lincolnshire: 'Part of Long Sutton House , the Seat of Joshua Peart Esq'. Gouache and watercolour. Circa 1790. Black border inscribed (indistinctly) and signed 'C Nattes delt. 49 South Molton (Street). In 1792 Lord of the Manor of Long Sutton Joshua Peart (b.1744) changed his name to Scrope on his wife (m.1771) inheriting a large Scrope fortune. The Peart/Scropes lived at Long Sutton from 1771-1795. Sir Joseph Banks commissioned Nattes to record the buildings of Leicestershire between 1789-1797. 8.5x11.25 inches.
