Head of a Man. Possibly a study for a Shakespearean character. Pen and ink. c.1760, in all likelyhood drawn before Romney left Kendal for London. Provenance, by repute: Whitestock Hall, Rusland, Lancashire, from 1806 home of Romney's son Rev. John Romney (1758-1835). The house was in the family until the early C20th. 7.75x5.25 inches.
